Thread: CL70 Gas Tank

I'm looking for a gas tank for a K3 CL70. I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Wow, I guess that's a negative on the tank. This one really has me baffled.

There are a few CL70 guys here, (I wouldn't mind finding a CL in decent shape) but the MiniTrails (i.e. CTs) have the biggest following, so when you get away from engine related issues a lot of members can't help too much. We're not ignoring you, we just don't always have, or even know about what you're needing.

Is your tank damaged or missing? I worked on a Z50 engine for a guy that had his tank "restored". I don't know what it cost him, but it was flawless. He said that his tank was rusted through and had dents from the forks and he didn't think it was fixable, but it looked showroom new when I saw it. That could be an option if you still have the remains of a tank.

Thanks, I have the tank and it actually looks like its in pretty good shape except that there is a horizontal cut or split on the right side. I guess this caused the inside of the tank to rust. Do you know what kind of place can do the restoration??

I haven't been in touch with my Z50 friend in a while, but I'll see if I can chase him down and get you an answer. He was generally a pretty frugal fellow, so I doubt that it was terribly expensive, but what do I know?!? Give me a couple of days.
