Thread: ''wanted'' 73 headlight ears.

i need a set of 73 headlight ears.if anyone has a pair for sale.pm me.

good luck!! the chrome ones are near impossible to find, took me almost a whole season to find a pair with constant searching everywhere, I finaly found my pair on ebay dented up for $50 but useable.

my only tip is to search ebay often, everywhere else i looked lead to a dead end....forums...bike yards.

easily one of the rarest parts if not the rarest

thanks guys.Brian,it depends on condition.i currently have a rotton 72 front end i picked up on e bay.the painted fork covers are shot.''rotten''.one of the fork seal chrome covers is damaged.i like the 73 ears because their are no holes for blinkers.the seller didnt state in the ad that the covers were rotton beyond repair.he shipped them to me almost a month after i paid for them.the ebay fork seal rebuild kit i have has the boots for the newer model ears ''taller''73 and up.i may try to buy the 72 pieces if it's a PITA to find 73 ears.the emerald green 71 front end is going on the shelf.i want to do some trail riding with it.

Good luck, it took me a good 2 or 3 months to find mine and that's a relatively short amount of time. Remember to be clever with your search terms on ebay. People who don't know about these bikes sometimes don't know what to call them. I found my set searching "CT Headlight bracket" or "CT Headlight" as most people associate them more with the headlight than the forks. I stole them for 15 bucks and they polished up nicely with very few dents.

I have a very very nice original set I'll sell ya for 1750.00, AND I'll throw in the rest of the bike in for free. See pic for details

They make after market ones for about 18 bucks if that will work.
