    Laws concerning your state

    found a webiste that u can use to see what ur state requires for using the bikes on the road

    Thanks, this is helpful. I interpret that MANUAL turn signals can be hand signals, anyone have any experience with mister law man on this?

    Hand signals work just fine out here in California. I used them in front of a police officer at an intersection and it all worked out fine.

    Vehicles only have to meet federal standards that were in effect at the date of manufacture or, in the case of `75 & later, the declared model year. Up to 1973, turn signals were not required on bikes.

    I've never been stopped for using hand signals, but then the hysterical plate probably doesn't hurt. From what I've noticed, the black & white tax collectors mostly pay zero attention to the CT and, presumably, understand hand signals. Sadly, a lot of motorists appear totally clueless.
