Thanks, this is helpful. I interpret that MANUAL turn signals can be hand signals, anyone have any experience with mister law man on this?
1970 CT70HK0 Candy Emerald Green (restored)
1972 CT70HK1 Candy Ruby Red (restored)
1973 CT70K2 Candy Topaz Orange (Grandfather's original)
1974 CT70K3 Candy Topaz Orange (low mileage original)
1974 CT70K3 Candy Riviera Blue (restoration-in progress)
Vehicles only have to meet federal standards that were in effect at the date of manufacture or, in the case of `75 & later, the declared model year. Up to 1973, turn signals were not required on bikes.
I've never been stopped for using hand signals, but then the hysterical plate probably doesn't hurt. From what I've noticed, the black & white tax collectors mostly pay zero attention to the CT and, presumably, understand hand signals. Sadly, a lot of motorists appear totally clueless.
