    6 years of waiting.....

On October 08, 2002 I purchased a candy gold 1971 CT70KO from Jeffrey's Antique Gallery in Findlay Ohio. The bike didn't run when I got it. I would end up stripping the whole bike down to bare metal. I had the engine rebuilt and the frame repainted this really sweet metallic blue. The little bike would end up sitting in my parents basement for the next five years because of lack of funds. I joined the Navy a little over 2 years ago. I ended up getting married and got a house on base. In January of this year I went on deployment to Japan for 6 months. While I was over there I saw z50's, ct70's, monkeys and Dax70's all running around. When I saw all those bikes running around town, I couldn't wait to come home and finish mine. I started buying parts when I returned home. My wife couldn't figure out what I was doing. I located this Forum and everything came together with all help from everyones post. I ended up meeting Bill Chappman aka "Hornetgod13". It turns out Bill lives right around the corner from me. With the help of him and his son Billy, they made a dream of mine come true. Today at 5:30 my ct70 kicked over and I was able to take it out for its maiden voyage. I still have a little bit of refining to do over the next couple of months. I just wanted to say Thanks to all of you.
    Sincerely Ryan Franks.

Living the dream on my trail 70...........

Nothing like a dream delayed to sweeten its eventual realization. Bet you'll be keeping the bike for years to come. Congrats!

Congratulations! The look on your face when that engine came alive was PRICELESS! I'm glad we could help.

Finish fine tuning that bad girl so we can go cruising!

Was you able to check on any parts while you were over in Japan ? Seems like that would be CT-70 heaven.

I'll will put up pics soon enough. The bike is not a 100 point bike. It's more along the lines of a resto mod. I could not find a place for parts while over there. I did get the ride this really cool suzuki version of a ct70. It was called a
Van Van 90. That was a blast to ride. THe Japanase are very big into their motorcycles.
