    '69 Cl70

Hi. I am new to the forum and a motorcycle novice. I just bought my first project, a 1969 Honda CL-K0, in pretty bad shape. I just ordered three different reference manuals for the bike and hope to move forward soon.

Does anyone know if all CL70 mufflers are interchangeable?

I look forward to reading the posts and learning...

    Thanks,
    Max

(I will post a pic when I figure out how? EDIT: Pic is my Avatar.)

I just won an extra CL70 engine ('69) for my project. I hope to use it as a practice engine, for rebuilding; rebuild the 'practice' engine well, rebuild the project engine - rebuild the 'practice' engine like crap, sent the project engine off to an expert.

That said, anyone know where I can find a list of items (gaskets, rings, piston, part numbers, etc.) required to do a complete engine rebuild on a 1969 Honda CL70 70cc engine? I believe the engine is very close to the CT70 engine.

    Thanks,
    Max

Sorry I don't know anything about CLs, but I like your methodology!

    Cheers!

Thanks... I believe the CL70 and CT70 engines are identical (the 4 speed manuals anyway), but I have read that the CL engine has a little more HP, I think the gearing may be a little different? When I find out for sure I will advise. I am still awaiting another book on the CL's.

I like your plan, . . . you get to tear down two engines. What more could you want? Now, if you decide to get rid of the spare engine when you're done keep me in mind. ;^)

I would love to keep you in mind - I will be thinking of you when I slide the extra engine into a CT70 frame (which I do not have - yet!)...

    Old pic of my CL70

THought that you'd like to see my CL70. I have since moved the motor out into my CT70 and have installed a base Jialing 120 bored and stroked to 155cc. With the original config, I could hit 87mph. With the 155cc I can do 83.

    Sharp Sharp!
