    CT70 steering bearing question

I bought some replacement bearings from Dratv for my steering assembly. They are the tapered roller type. Okay I know how to put them in but I messed up and mixed the two sets up. The top and bottom races have different tapers on them and Im not sure which bearing goes with which race since I mixed them all up by accident.

    One bearing is labeled 22.5x41x12
    The other is 41x24x12

neither race has any markings !

Anybody have any idea how I can figuire this out?

Im assuming the race which does not allow the bearing to fit flush inside it is for the bottom. Since the bottom bearing is where the load is and will get more wear. But which bearing goes with that race?

Send an e-mail to DrAtv and ask them. The only way to know for sure is to have a second set to compare it to. Anything else is just a guess. They are good folks, I'm sure they'll be happy to answer for you.

Doesn't apply to this thread but you can buy the 42 ball bearings from mcmastercarr.com waaaaay cheaper than from Dratv.

    The size is 3/16"

    $3.03/100

The races are the same. The bearings are different.

The ID of the bearings are different. One of the bearings you won't be able to seat on the bottom on the head tube. The bearing with the larger ID goes on the bottom because your steerer tube is tapered.
