    Custom Ct on a Budget

Here's some picture's of my first and the one I'm starting. The first one's done the bike was given to me about 5 years ago. I started working on it last December. I rebuilt the top end ,wheels, clutch and polished it up. We've have had a blast on it. Since then I've been collecting bikes and parts. My second bike is just parts right now,But I'm getting ready to put it to gather.

    Intake IMG_1686.jpg

Kx 450 IMG_1711.jpgMore parts, I'm useing a XL 70 front fork which are about 1 1/2" longer then the CT,ST and SL so my buddy made me a top triple clamp so I can slide the fork up if need be, it's not done yet but close . I'll show the fork when it's finished being polished and new seal put in. The intake I found on Ebay it's 22mm at both ends. The third peace are clamps My buddy make's for larger bike's(KX450 I think

That will definatley be a Custom alright. What year is the bike? I like the Blue Color.

What are the 2 extra holes on the top left of the bike frame where the battery tray mounts?

I'm pretty sure that's a helmet holder - my '73 has that. The key that is used for the ignition also operates the helmet holder. It's a cool feature.

I decided that I'd use that frame for my eventual street machine.

By the way, I love the idea of a budget build. It's tough justify the cash needed to make a really nice restomod CT70 in my opinion. Unless you have a lot of it laying around of course!

Please keep us updated. The KX 70 fork idea - that's something I'd love updates on!

I think its a 73 I'm at work right now and the tags at home ,But yes it is a helmet holder. Check these heads out I have 6 heads to choose from XL,SL,and a CT's. The SL has larger cooling fine and more of them the ports and valve are the same since I'm broke(no$) I think I'm going to do some port work on the SL head. Mostly matching, cleanup and polish the exhaust. Check these out. Also I was thinking of useing a 85cc hit with a Honda hot cam has anyone done this. Input would be appreciated.

The KX 65 Fork still need some research I been writing racerx and he came up with some question I need to answer first before I spend the $. On buying the forks and brakes but it may work. The KX uses KYB fork so the the quality would be there.

Ya I think so, If we plan on looking at other forks with larger tube's we'll have to. You can only bore the stock so far, and I think I'm close to the limit with the XL fork.
