    Help with paint color.

I want to paint my 1980 ct70 , I want to go with the shiny orange that was on the 1977 ct70 but what color would it be in to days paints?
The painters around here are to lazy or stupid to find the original code or whatever so telling me to get them to look isn`t going to work.
I am sure someone is going to ask why I want to change the color, reason being I don`t like red and I want something a bit different.
I am going to dress it up like an early H model but in shiny orange with a 125cc gpx or 140cc ogm and side mount hi po exhaust.
I was thinking of going with the traditional chevy orange but I like the 1977 ct orange better.
Any help would be most apreciated.

I was thinking about doing the same with my red 72, I was trying to get like a Boise State University theme with the orange bike and the blue graphics. I'm somebody knows the paint code though.

    Vintage Honda Paint

I don't have access to paint codes, but if you know the name of the Orange you want, this place sells paint kits you can provide your painter if you don't want to do the work yourself.

    PERFECT MATCH TO ORIGINAL COLOR

I used the paint kit for Candy Red and was very satisfied.

i wouldnt even bother trying to find a code if u have a sample of it. if its in good shape and u can throw some compound on it and shine it up, solid oranges are easy to match up. i could probably mix it up in a few mins and have it 95% to 99% of the orginal color. either way, using todays urethanes, the color still wont be is exact as it was back in the day.

Well I did find this:YR-26 Shiny orange
That is the color and honda's paint code.I seriously doubt that helps me any, that color won`t show up on any new paint charts.
Also here is a link if anyone wants to know the really old paint codes of any honda.

Hey swanni, I've got an orange '77 frame in the garage. The paint isn't perfect, but it's pretty nice. I was planning on building that one up for the wife, but I have a '74 frame out in the shed that will also work for her scoot. Problem is, it's pretty big and heavy, (would cost a bunch to ship) and I haven't got a title on it. I might be willing to work a trade or something if you're interested.

lol what if I just paid you to take it to a paint store and find out what color it is??

Unfortunatley I couldn`t tag it here without a title and I would have to jump thru 50 hoops and do 10 hand stands to get an out of country bike tagged even if you had the title.

We have to even tag off road bikes here and put insurance on it too pretty $$%^$* stupid huh?So I would still need a bill of sale and inspection done on it.

If you have a chain gaurd or something off it I would buy that though....

So basicly it would be cheapier to pay you to figure out what color it is,which I would gladly do.
