    Just picked them up

CT Blue.jpgNew_CT's_Aug_2010_003.jpgJust picked these up tonight, red one is build date of 2-72 with 1700 mi's. blue build date 9-69, just missed "silver", 5000 mi's. Both are locked, assumed from sitting in a barn under cover at least, for who knows how long. 72 has all parts and pieces other than side cover on air filter and looks like it will clean up easy. 69 is not quite as appealing to the eye, really cool bars huh, at least most of it is there and may eventually get going. best part I can't complain about the price, 75.00 for BOTH.

tore down the top end on the red one and freed the piston. Cylinder will clean up nice with quick hone, rings appear to be good, the head has issues. Intake and exhaust are sloppy, loaded the dome w/ wd40 and had bleed by. Will check the gap and go from there. There points and condencer are shot so they'll be replaced and will check on the tires once I get fire. Going to dip the carb and get it cleaned and see what happens. I think it may have been parked due to the head but thats wishful thinking.
The 69 was looked at closer today and I did observe that the wires for the missing rear taillight do come up through the frame and the rubber grommet is still in place, I thought this was specific to silver tags? The motor is locked as was the 72 so at a later date I'll pull the head off and see if the piston will break loose. Time to put an order in for parts.

OK, what part of the country are you from, these kind of deals don't happen in the deep south! I love bikes like these, these are my kind of finds. Here in Texas they would still want $1000 buck for them, each! Some one is feeling everyone down here full of poop.

Hey B.I.T.D. I consider myself very lucky, with the fleet of 11 ( 8 ct's 3 z's ) I have now, the most I have paid for a single one was 325.00 and that was the 79 off ebay. I'm still hoping one day to get a titled CT. Maybe it'll happen, anyone know what ever became of Karen with her titling serv. she spoke of starting? Rich

Mc916, thats the best news I've heard all day. Did it take just a bill of sale or what? I'm originally from upstate N.Y., W. of Binghamton area, and my folks still live there and I have plenty of friends and relations there as well. Will have to try to convince one of them to get the process for me. Rich

Congrats... Those should have been mine.. I was the first to call about them, but then couldn't get off of work to go get them.
