    MY First Ever Trail 70

I just picked this Trail 70 up today. I found it in a barn and had been sitting for a while. I sprayed it off at the car wash and it doesn't look too bad. I don't even know where to start to get it running. The owner said his son had it running when it was parked.

Thanks guys. It has a spark, it is getting fuel but won't start. also, how do i get the round drum looking thing off so i can access the points? It has a nut in the middle. I got the nut off but cannot figure out the rest. The battery is also dead. Will that matter?
    Thanks,
    Zack

    Bike

You do not need a battery to start/run the bike but without a battery, even a dead one you will blow all your bulbs. You need a flywheel puller to get the flywheel off to access the points. A Honda shop will have one or you can order one from one of the parts supply houses. dratv has them I believe.

If you're looking to remove the points you'll need that puller but a if you're just looking to adjust you dont need to remove the flywheel. A screwdriver is all that is needed. Also, a timing light will tune that baby if everything else is in order.
