    Talking New CT70 project w/pics

Hello all. I picked up a few CT70's last fall and plan on restoring two of the three. this is the nicest of the three

It runs fantastic but needs some work before its street legal. I need to fill out the its-title service paper work to get notarized and sent in so i can get a title for it. I have a couple speedometers but im unsure which is the correct one. I believe it to be the one bucket that holds the speedo and headlight? ill have to take some pics of it. I have turn signals but i dont know how i would hook them up, or if they are actually needed to be street legal in IL. I have been scootin around on this and im unsure if there is routine maintenance i should be doing on this thing to make sure its tip top. Im new to all of this but i love the feeling of riding these little things so i have a lot to learn about them. I think id like to keep this thing relatively stock and trick out one of my other ones with more power etc. Looking for any suggestions on restoring and making this street legal. Thanks all.

    Welcome aboard Dexter!
What you have in your pic is a 1970 Candy Gold KO model.
Look like the headlight you have on this bike is for a 72 and up CT.
Your right about the speedo and headlight being in the same bucket. That's how
    KO (69 -71) bikes came.
    Nice looking bike too.
The exhaust pipe is also the same as the headlight, wrong style. Pipe is for a K1 and up
    CT.
This is a awesome website for these little beauties.

    me likey
not much restoring needed, maybe some new nuts and bolts, chain guard.
change the oil as much as possible.repack the bearing,or get new.
and show off your toy.you can't beat this 40 year old honda technology.
as far as the wiring, you may just have some corrision on a ground wire.
looks like a sweet bike, and a cool color.

KO bikes weren't equipped with turn signals. I don't think you have to add them. They didn't come w/ mirrors either. You have a nice bike for original paint. If you redo it completely the originality will be gone forever.

thank you guys for the good info so far. I think id like to get the correct exhaust for it but keep the mirrors. I do need a new chain guard and a swing arm because one of the buddy pegs' bolts was broken off inside it. Also, i dont plan on putting the signals on unless im required to by law...
    Any oil recommendations?
    What is "repacking the bearing"?
    Thank you

mis-guided you a little on that ,forgot that the front and rear wheel bearings are sealed, just check them to see if they spin freely.or just to be safe order some new ones.

Actually you may repack the old original wheel bearings or replace with new sealed units.I would try and remove the broken footpeg before replacing the swing arm.you will never match the paint correctly.
