    Project Bling

I think I originally posted this in the general section but seen how its an ongoing project I figured I would continue here.
Well I spent a little time on polishing the cylinder head. Not for the faint of heart. Ive done allot of polishing in my days and I have to admit this head takes major work and finesse. Its looking good though and will polish up to a nice luster. The pic shows some casting imperfections in the cam sprocket cover but they will smooth out easily.

Well come spring there will be bling.

    Hey Nuckle B.

A carb will polish up very nice. However it is made if zinc and will dull rather quick. Also zinc is allot softer than the aluminum parts of the engine and you can buff out the detail on the carb very quick and even ruin it if your not careful.

Well I did a little more work on the head. I thinks its good enough for who its for. (me).

Overall about 6hrs work. Thats enough for me. Buffing parts like this you eat and breath allot of wheel fibers. "cough" "hack".

Quite the test of one's persistence and you've passed with flying colors. FYI...you should be wearing a respirator when polishing. Silica, aluminum, mercury (many aluminum alloys contain varying amounts of mercury) & other metals should not be inhaled. Mo`better you stay healthy enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Starting on the case halves tomorrow. They should be relatively easy as these are injection molded parts and somewhat smooth to begin with.
