    Steering stop tab.

Would it be dangerous if I cut off that little tab? Seems like it would since then dangerous oversteer could occur on a rough bump. Only reason I ask is the one on my bike is tweaked. I Searched but didnt find any discussion about this.

I've ridden a few bikes withouth them, and yeah, you have to watch the steering, but more because you could pull the handlebar/headlight bucket wires out if you turn the wheel too far. I actually liked the fact that I could nip and tuck around tight spots with a bit more turn.

There seems to be enough slack in my wires to allow a full turn either way.

heat the tab up with a torch and hammer it back into place. With out the tab you risk denting up your bike with the forks if you have a spill.
