Hello everyone. I though I might start a thread on my semi restoration of my childhood bike. I owned this bike when I was 12 years old. I am now 36 and was able to pick this bike up some 24 years later. It has had a pretty rough life, but is pretty complete and original. The build date is 11/70 and the frame # 142519. The motor # 142570 but had to be swaped out with later case halves. Sometime in the last 25 years someone had tried prying off the flywheel and craking the case. I'm not looking to make a show bike out of it, just something that is reliable and looks nice. I'm going to get it painted this spring with some chp emerald green. I've been hiding in the back ground of this site for a few months now doing lots of searchs and reading all the information this site has to offer. Its nice to see all people that are willing to share there experiences and know how when it comes down to these fun little bikes. I thought I would start a thread now since I have begun the reasembly process. I decided to start off with the motor since I can do it at the kitchen table since it 30 degrees out with about 14 inchs of snow. I finally got the bottom end of the motor back together this weekend. After alot of cleaning, inspecting and some new and good used parts ive finally jumped the first hurdle. Here are some pics of what the bike looked like when I picked it up, and some of the motor bottom end. I will add pics as I go along. With little extra funds it will take some time, but I want to make sure it right when I'm done. Thanks to you out there that has helped me to this point. It sure has been alot of fun.
Andy
