    ct90 gas leak

I have a 1974 honda ct90 and i noticed it was leaking. I had walked in to the garage and seen fluid on the ground near the bike, it was gas. It was coming from the air filter and so i took off the air chamber and out poured a bunch of gasoline. What could this be??

Sounds like you have a float inside the carburator stuck down, could be needle and seat or float has a hole in it, or even still, float adjustment is set incorrectly, Turn you gas off at the petcock and see if it still leaks, it should not.

No, not necessarily. If it is slow leak, you might never run the float bowl out of fuel enough to see a problem. I solve this problem and keep from burning my house down from exploding fuel fumes by turning the fuel petcock valve to off every time I quit riding for the day.

sometimes you can fix the float neeldle sticking by wacking the carb with the handle of a screwdriver
