How fast can you get your ST90 to?

Im trying to get mine to be able to cruise at 45 and max around 52 ish...so I can take it on some real roads. I tried the other day, and fully tucked and rider weight at 170#'s, I maxed at 45. Untucked I slowed to like 41. How fast are you guys going? Any mods?

I'm not running a ST90, but just curious, what motor, carb, exhaust do you have. I would think you should be getting more than 45 mph out of it.

Its all stock as far as i know except the carb. If you see my other posts, I was trying to figure out which carb I have and if its original or not.

You have a stock Keihin 18 carb. I would invest in a bigger carb and intake and free flowing exhaust. You should get another 5 - 8 mph just on those imporovements. I run a Keihin 24 and the Mikuni TM24 is excellent also. Just FYI

The Keihin 18 comes factory on the ST90? Or the ST70? The carb rebuild kit I bought for it, some of the pieces did not fit. The carbs you mentioned, any recomendation on where to purchase?

What are you wanting, stock Honda or fast aftermarket high performance? More fuel, air volume equals more $$$. Don't really know your situation. If you want a new Honda Keihin, Motoenzo will sell you one, but you have to send him your intake for modification. MotoEnzo - Providers of quality Honda MiniTrail Restorations. ST 90 Top Speed

I have a '74 St 90 with 1300 miles on it that I have owned for 5 years. I changed the knobbies (original tires) to Bridgstone street tires. The gearing is stock. On a paved road I have hit 52 MPH. I am 6'1 and weigh 250+ lbs. Yeah I know I look funny on this bike, but it's sure fun to ride. If yours is running right it should do the same, since I bet you're lighter.

Many years ago I owned a CL90 which had virtually the same top end as the ST, but it was a 4-speed with a manual clutch, and it would flirt with 60 on the straight and level, but that was with some gearing changes and I had to wind it pretty tight to get there. I went back and geared it a little taller and it ran out of power before it ran out of transmission, but I could run 50 all day long and get ~80mpg. Too bad I got hit by that Buick, . . . I'd like to still have that one.

hit by a buick. Its always those buicks. An older buick can take out a house never mind a minibike. That had to suck.
