C.E.G. 71 STROKER H 110cc
Dairyland
$70./year for three bikes.
state farm. $64 a year. liability and theft. for the 74 CT tagged for the street in IA.
I just had my first experience with a China bike and insurance...What I have learned is that if it is a Lifan, that is listed in the insurance books...Chongging Lifan is one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world for motorized vehicles. American Lifan can be an issue...I don't know why.
Still waiting for the insurance agent to call back. Said Foremost could write a policy on the Pitster. Sent information on the other 3 bikes, could be what is dragging her down. Just not a fan of insurance companies, good when you need them. Bad all the rest of the time. Thanks for the update wonder who manufactures Pitster?
Well the insurance saga is over. After 2 agents and quotes from 3 different companies. I finally called Progressive myself. Guess what they can write a policy, and add to my current policy for $95.00 a year. About $20.00 more than another company, but they insure my other 3 bikes for really too cheap so I guess it washes out. If I moved the other 3 bikes I would end up about another $150 in the hole. Live and learn, still not sure I even need to insure the little guy....
Being responsible sucks and its expensive.
I'm glad that you got it figured out.
One thing that I have noticed since I got my replica is that a lot of these clones are actually Lifan with another name on them...I have no idea why they did that, but Lifan is acknowledged in the insurance world and is easy to insure.
For anyone in this situation, check the I.D. (VIN) on the frame and engine and see if they are not in fact Chongging (Lifan). It might save you a big headache. As I said in my previous post, American Lifan and Chongging Lifan are two seperate companies. Chongging Lifan is not a problem.
