    Is speedometer adjustable?

I have a 2003 Rupp Scrambler 90 clone bike. I went past one of those digital police signs that shows your speed. It showed me at 37 when my speedometer showed 50. Is there a gear I can change in the hub or the speedometer to get it more accurate?

30% is a huge error. It's also something you can use to diagnose your problem. Find a known distance to ride then check your odometer readings against it for accuracy. You shouldn't need more than 2 or 3 miles to see an error this large. If your odometer reads correctly, then the speedo head needs tweaking. On the other hand, if it's off by the same amount as indicated speed then you're going to need a speedo drive with a different ratio.

If you manage to get one, changing the drive gear to one off an 8" Z50 clone (Honda won't fit, Chinese drive the speedo backwards), this might be just about right.

I have a buddy who does stickers and wraps. I could probably get a new face sticker with the speed numbers where i want them. It's a clone, so I just treat it like it's somebody else's...LOL

I'd check odometer accuracy first. Those stationary radar trailers don't always read your speed accurately on a bike this small because of the tiny reflective frontal area. We have a permanent radar sign a couple of miles away and I regularly watch the numbers rise as I get nearer, while holding the speed steady. FWIW, I've checked a few of those Chinese K0 repop speedos, of your same vintage, and with an OEM Honda speedo drive they've all been within 5%.

I felt the radar sign was correct. This stock 90cc clone is able to bury the speedo at 70+. The only mods were gearing changes for more top end. I think we can agree that there is no way this thing can go any where close to that speed. I feel it can hit 50-55 maybe.

Sorry, I guess I should have posted that I no longer have this bike. I traded it for several real CT70s as they have more value to me.
