Congrats Ryan! When do we ride? How about this weekend?

What did they do about the engine serial number? You get your base sticker yet?

I took the bike there to have them look at it, no problems. Base stickers are today. Riding this weekend, definitely.

Did the DMV verify it or did you have to take it to the CHP?

    Street Legal 1970 Z50 K2

I just went through the process to make one of my Z50's street legal. I purchased it with no title and only a bill of sale. I had to pay the transfer tax and registration fees, write up a statement of fact and have the VIN varified. Two trips to the DMV and I have my license plate. Couldn't have been easier. I think it's best if there is no VIN or registration record of the bike in the system. If you have a cloudy title, it's probably more work and expense to resolve. I live in California.

When I got my '71H titled, all I had was a bill of sale. Went to the DMV and paid $4 for a records search that came up empty. That was a good thing because then I could apply for a Title and get registered right there and then and not have to do all the research associated with applying for a lost title. If your bike has never been Titled or registered, it seems pretty easy. Had to take the bike in for them to physically inspect it and the VIN number. Cost me $98 total.

I tried to get a title for my ct70 thru international title. Sent the paper work to international title I think it was $75.00, got the paper work back and went to the DMV, and they rejected it, the lady said that WI and some other states will no longer except this She also stated that there is a law suit against international title. You may want to check with your dmv before trying this.

I think you can pay a little extra($125) at ITS and they will get you Nevada tags, won't they? That will at least buy you a year until they expire then it's just a matter of transfering the registration from NV to WI...but I could be wrong.
