The pictures Gary provided shows them routed in the front. I've seen them routed a number of ways. I've got several original magazine articles from "back in the day" and owner's manuals for each and they show the cable routed different ways. As mentioned by another member, if there is an original document for set up instructions for dealerships, that would clear this up and would be an excellent document for have and share with other collectors.

After seeing all the different ways and reading the thread and thinking how these were "Really" assembled I can't believe that there is a standardize format. I'm mean I just don't think in an assembly line environment that the cables were consistant....or at the multiple dealerships for that matter.

Also, I bet these photo's advertisements were all done in the U.S. Who knows what tweaking the Ad Agency did to them!

As to who's pictures are they? Kind of irrelevant, since all they were was a tool for a question and not a call out to poke at a sensitive ego.

I forgot about that one. I checked and have to agree, they do appear to be behind the bars.

Here some copies of TL 125 set up instructions. There must be the same sheets for all other Hondas.Did the dealerships follow them? Who knows, but Honda did have it all figured out. Most likely the dealership had lesser skilled help putting them together, why have the higher paid mechanics putting together new bikes when you'd be using them bring in money working on customer bikes? Let the "new" kid do it after school.
much like putting a model together

Well, I am shocked, all the knowledge that can be found on this forum and we still don't know how to run the brake cables. You guys are letting me down! I brag about this forum to everyone and we can't figure out how to run the damn cables! I am very disapointed in you guys. OK I am just kidding don't beat me up, but I am shocked, I thought for sure some one would know this for sure. I am going with my 1970 picture and my preferance of running them in the front until someone can give me a damn answer

I've seen more old pictures, advertisements, and brochures with the KO/HKO cables in the front of the handlebars. This may fall in the gray area like the production numbers. To each his own, I guess. However, I'd love to see original dealerships set-up instructions. That would solve this Scoobie Doo Mystery.
