Not to sheath is the answer. Orig. has a little green collar and shares a grommet w/ the throttle cable I presume.

The original horn wire was grey with a little green collar. For a correct resto, the wire should be painted grey, not sheathed. It does indeed share a grommet with the throttle cable.

Hmmmmmm - This is what I read at CHP

"Horn Button now with the correct light green wire as Honda originally called out for in the wiring diagram."

But looking at some of the pics of other minis, I could not tell for sure.
Thus curious if the sheath was required.

The schematic does lead you to believe that the button wire is green. The schematic portrays the wire as green because it connects with the green wire on the horn. That is why there is a green collar on the gray wire.

The horn wire is green on the end lead only and is otherwise grey.

In the 3 pictures below you can see a single gray wire coming out the right handlebar grommet hole that is routed to the headlight bucket where it mates up with the light green wire from the horn assembly.

You might ask Racer's advice on this too but, I don't think the originals had a green colored wire the entire length like the ones being sold by 2 of the leading parts distributers. I believe these switches are aftermarket.
