Used Honda XL70 motor..1974 model. Will bolt right in other Honda 70's. IE.. CT, XL, SL even the Z50 models from late 60's-late 70's. I was going to use this motor in a CT 70 project, but I already have a CT70H 4 speed model thats a great runner, and have two 3 speed model projects now. I do not see myself using this motor in the future, so up for sale it go's.. I may kick myself in the butt later for selling it.
Item discription... This motor is a 4 speed with a manual clutch. I heard that the differance between the XL and CT 4 speeds is the shift pattern, and a hotter cam as stock.. ?? This has the 1 down.. 3 up, campared to the stock CT70 shifting at 4 down. I do not know history of the bike this came out of, bike was just a roller frame w/motor when I recieved. Unknown if motor has been rebuilt or not. What I do know... I installed this motor in my latest CT project just to see if I could get spark with a 3 speed wire harness. Motor does kick thru fine (not froze) and did get good spark. Kick start shaft, and shifter shaft splines are good and clean, I did clean the motor off some, and used steel wool on sidecovers to remove paint, Just need to clean finnish a little more and paint stock color. So this motor should be a cool motor for a CT70. Again.. condition is unknown.. may or may not need rebuilt. Trans seemed to shift fine by hand. Can email pics, just send me a email..
