Thread: chinese engine?

Hello,
Would like to put a 125 lifan engine in my 1979 ct 70. Question is, how hard is it, I don't feel to comfortable with the electrical part of the bike. My bike has blinkers and all the light's work including the light's in the speedometer. Can I leave all the origanal bulbs in the bike.(going from 6 volt to a 12 volt) Who do you recomend to purchase the motor from. I know I can install the engine and fabricate any thing I need. I just don't know how hard the electrical is.

I have a 70 CT70h I put a Lifan in about a year ago. It bolted in easy, Beatrice has the wiring suport you need, go to their web site they have a pig tail that plugs into the eng. and to the electrial in the bike also a 6v reg to keep the rest of the bike 6v and the eng run on 12v. I did have to put a 12v headlite in though. also I had to change the eng sprocket to a 420 pitch sprocket. it came with a 428 pitch, but I don't know if they all come that way. I did the Lifan 110cc swap , and switched all the bulbs to 12v , and installed a 12v battery , pretty easy swap.

I have a 1970 and I too want to do the swap. What would I need, Just the pigtail and some new bulbs? Im sure its been covered here but I cant find a good how to/walk through.
