You can get batteries for these a lot cheaper than $50 and eliminate many issues. Put a battery tender on and you are good to go...No more ruined batteries. Battery tenders are an affordable piece of insurance for your bike, golf cart and boat batteries that do not get used as much as your primary vehicle.

I use a solar one for my travel trailer batteries because I hate replacing batteries when it so easily prevented.

I do have one CT that is used as a pit/camping bike and ALL electrics have been removed and it is just looped on the harness plug...It even has a kill switch instead of an ignition. If you do not have any electrics, that is fine to do.

I second the motion on getting a battery. I powered everything I could from the battery

On these small bikes the stock electrical system is weak. If you have already gone to a bigger engine you should invest the time and $ in a solid 12V system

The lights will work better and bulbs will last longer on strictly filtered 12VDC power

I bought a larger battery that could accomidate electric start, and it cost me $17

Well worth the price even if they do fail years down the road

I have heard a lot of others on this webboard recommend using the DC power system and 12V which is why I went that way. I was glad I did in the end, and it did not cost very much money at all
