Yeh I also noticed the "chrome" bits painted black and though that maybe It's been restored - also, looking at the pictures it even looks like It's been restored. Very tidy example. Here in Australia, I estimate It'd go for A$3,000+.
Couldn't ride it down under though, cause we ride on the left side of the road !!!

Welp, I talked to the guy down to $1500 for it, so I am going to go pick it up this weekend!!! Just out of curiosity, how would I be able to tell if it was restored or it is original? The guy says it is all original, but got any tips on what i should check out to make sure i am getting what he says it is?
It should have rub marks on the side covers and pegs from shoes/boots. I also look under the seat to see what the inside of the frame looks like...You can tell if it's aged. You might be able to see any overspray if there is any. The cables might have some cracking and the tires might too...The wheels and hubs will show age as well.
Did he say if the battery was original?
Congratulations on the bike!
He said it is 100% original. It looks untouched from the pictures he has sent me.
Here are some more pics.
Just as Karen said. Also look at the paint under the seat and see if it appears to look like overspray or nicely finished.
99% of restored bikes are nicely finished in this area whereas originals appear to just have more of an overspray type of finish.
Congratulations, but i would go get it ASAP or at least be sure the deal is safely secured.
Listen to Dennis & beat feet to get that one . As far as refinished or original - at that price I wouldn't worry about it . If they did refinish , it's a nice job . It does look like a new paint to me . Post some pics when you get it . Nice bike .
Just a couple CT70's **
