Thread: CT-70 Mechanic near Chicago area wanted

I cant get my bike to run 1970 H model. i have spark and gas. the points are set the valves are set. Once the weather is out from 20 below id like some help figuring out the problem. I could bring it to you or you could come to my house in Buffalo Grove. thanks Dean clubford00@aol.com

I had the same problem with one bike that I had. I had good spark and carb was as clean as could be. Valves were set perfectly, had new points, condensor. It was driving me nuts. Then I did the simplest thing I could try. I put in a different plug. It fired up instantly. It was so simple I had to laugh. The old plug seemed to be getting spark when I held it against the engine and kicked it over. I guess it was just a bad plug. This may not be your problem but it is worth a try.

i had the same problem mine ended up being carbon crumbs on the backside of the intake valve. i sanded it with some 120 grit sand paper started on the 2nd kick. i had compression coming back through the carb when i was kicking . all of my timing was on also.
