    CT 70 model identification

I just bought a 1973 ct70. I was wondering if this is a k2 or k3 since it was built in September of 1973. Another thing that is throwing me off is it has a plastic gas tank and I was told they only used these k1's and before. Thanks in advance for all your help. Tony
Oh and my serial number is 2307022

    VIN starting in 230 is a K3.

I'm still working on the formatting, but we have all the VIN's for both engine and frame in one convenient place.

The engine VIN decoder can tell you what year your engine is from and also if you have an oddball engine.

And some better scans of all the pics:

I just looked at that last link showing the bikes throughout the years. It seems once they got rid of that metal front fender, the looks just went downhill.

The chrome fenders bolt right on and the 1991-1994 CT70's are far superior bikes to the older ones and most of the K0 chrome parts (fenders, taillamps) retrofit on the older bikes. The 12V CDI CT70's are one of the best kept secrets in the CT70 market.
