    CT70KO point cover polished?

Spent the day blowing the dust off an old 3 speed sapphire blue, bike I have. Was detailing the engine, and getting ready to start a rebuild of the front wheel hub, while I wait for some more carb parts to come in....
Was wondering if someone can tell me if the removable (as opposed to single piece cover) point cover was polished when new? Seen a few restorations that polished this. Would like to to keep it close to OEM (but have no intentions to make this a trailer queen). Appreciate your help

Yes it is...You can check out new ones on dratv or other vendor sites to see the finish.

The stock finish looks more of a brushed finish . Polished finish does look good though . Below is two different covers , one the etched , the other is the stock .

I polish all mine, and then paint the HONDA letters in high gloss black. The lower letters do not get painted. FWIW.

Now see Dennis? Time ta' get into the '72's and up - better suspension, better lighting, HONDA in black, neutral lights, inserts in rear shocks, huge taillights, etc..............

OK, I am finding that these things are a time sink. What started as a weekend to clean, polish , carb rebuild, run, got as far as clean.
    Here is unpolished

And this is after polish. Stopped short of mirror, wanted to leave some road wounds, after all., for me, in the end, I want to ride this thing again
