    Honda shop manual

I want to purchase a shop manual for my K0 and K1 projects. I found this - http://hondatrail70.com/mcart/index.cgi?code=3&cat=2

seems like the best deal - combo of sales brochure, shop, parts, and owners manuals for 30.00. Has anyone on this webboard purched this combo set of manuals? Othe places have the manuals for 20.00 each. Are these manuals reproductions - I asusme and are they all pretty much the same no matter who you buy from? I don't think I need the clymer version. Thank you.

I purchased the factory shop manual and found it almost useless. It does have wiring diagrams . The other items in that group does make it worth $30. You will still need a Clymer manual http://dratv.com/noname194.html

If I were only getting one or the other I would go with the Clymer. The factory manual assumes you have had training on other Honda models and only explains the things that are different to these bikes . The explanations are lacking detail . The Clymer on the other hand explains things in great detail with loads of pictures.

I agree, go with the Clymer manual. The stuff in there even applies to newer Honda XR/CRF motors in general.

I have the earlier, less complete, reprints from Atocha, two different editions of Clymers and a vintage Haynes repair manual. The Honda shop manual has good info & specs without information overload, but is lacking when it comes to precedural details. The parts manual is indispensable. The `70s vintage Haynes & Clymers are the best if you're unfamiliar with working on these engines, the current edition Clymers has too much irrelevant information and is hard to follow. Too often, critical details are contained in one line buried in a large block of text; that could spell disaster for some.

IMO, the set is a good value for $30. There's no such thing as a single source that covers everything adequately.
