just called today and they quoted me $24.00 a month for my lifan 70 and thats in Canadian dollars and in the province of Ontario.
I think it all depends on where you live. Ca. might be pretty expensive and east egypt could be alot cheaper. Ca. is about 80.00 in greenbacks.

I just got insurance for a year for $75.00 from Progressive>Colorado through USAA (who doesnt handle motorcycles)
for a 1971K0
My guy (Country Companies) wants $100 US for the year. Hard to tell if you guys are comparing apples to apples (or oranges). The amount of coverage, whether it is just liability, etc. would greatly effect the price. The amount above was more than liability, it also covered the bike .... but with a $250 deductable. I just put the paperwork in to get my title and plates, so I need to do the insurance thing soon so I can ride when the snow melts.

I'm paying $250/year to insure a pair of custom-built bikes through Hagerty. That's with their membership fee, $100 deductibles, unlimited mileage and agreed value coverage well into four figures.
