    Talking New Bike!!!!!!

    Hey Guys-
My bike drought is over. I just won a 1971 green four speed on ebay!! I've attched a picture below. Right now it has a 3 speed motor on it, but the original 4 speed motor comes with it. The four speed motor needs a top end rebuild as it is running weak. I'm gonna need some help from you guys on this one! But at least I'll have a motor on it so I can ride it while rebuilding the motor. Cosmetically it needs a new chain guard, and somebody painted the rear shocks silver. But the original paint is in fantastic shape. Any thoughts or questions be sure to post!

Put an 85 or 88cc bore up kit on the motor that needs the rebuild. By the time you pay for boring/honing the old cylinder and replacing the piston & rings you'll have over a C-note invested. I'd split the cases and make sure there's no sludge or damaged teeth on any of the gears, disassemble the head to check the condition of the valve guides. Two new valves, springs and stem seals won't set you back much. Also be sure to check the condition of the valve seats, leaky valves will cause weak running. Lastly, don't forget to replace the friction discs in the clutch...they're cheap.

As to the painted items, forget about getting an exact match on a 34 year old bike. E-mail me directly if you need a source for painting.

try striping off the silver to see what is under it.

all depends on what you want to do with it.
