    Pricing Question

I'm getting ready to sell my 2 CT-70's and am curious about opinions of prices. The first one I'm going to sell is an orange 1970 KO which I'm fairly certain has all original parts. It is a 38 mph bike on the flat roads with my 165lb body. The rims are in great shape, frame is in great shape, brake cables will need replacing but truthfully, the bike is fantastic for a 1970.

Question, what type of price tag would you put on a CT in great, non-restored, running condition?

Manual or automatic? You said orange, so I assume topaz orange which should be an "H" model with a manual clutch. They usually bring a higher dollar. Post up some pics and we can give you a better estimate.

When you go to sell, that KO is actually called Candy Gold...Topaz Orange was used on the HKO's and the K3's.

Yeah, those are my girls in the previous link by HornetGod. Thanks for that.

Its interesting you mentioned that the orange one is an H. I thought for sure the serial number on the bike did not have an H. I'll go home tonight and check that out. If that is the case and the frame is an H, I do not know how I over looked that. Either way, they both have KO motors and not the manual 4 speed. Oh, on a side note, the speedo on the orange one only has 3 speeds labeled and not 4. Is there a possibility that this could have been a manufacturers fluke, making it a 1 ina million bike? that would be nice!

The Candy Gold one is a three speed (KO)

The Candy Blue Green one is a HKO frame with a 3 speed (KO) motor installed.

I read through your previous posts. You asked several times about price quotes. Do you really intend to sell or are you want to know their market value?

The Candy Gold KO would most likely fetch more money since it's all original and would take very little to clean up. The Candy Blue Green is more of a frankin bike and the frame and engine have been separated.

The pics that I am seeing do not have a Topaz Orange bike in them. They are a Candy Gold KO and a Candy Blue/Green HKO.

I agree that as they are now the Candy Gold will fetch more cash. You might look around for a motor that fits the B/G HKO. There is a place in Florida that gets a lot of CT's and parts. Post on all the forums what you are looking for. Maybe you will find someone that has the opposite of you and wants to trade. Even getting a H motor for it will help a lot on the selling that bike, there are just as many people who do not have to have matching numbers as those that do want them. It's just a different type of buyer.

    Here's a direct link to the post w/pics: http://planetminitrails.com/webboard...html#post41696

Finding an HK0 engine isn't as difficult as one may expect either. Also Karen's right on the "matching numbers", there are people that are interested and will buy regardless of that as long as its an "H" with that manual four speed transmission.
