    What bolt is this?

I have a '78 CT70 and there's a bolt hole on the left (as you're sitting over the motor looking down) side of the cylinder, for which I believe I have the correct bolt. It's a 10mm head with threads 1/3 of the way down and smooth the rest of the way. For some reason the bolt won't go all the way in though. I'm 99% sure this is the right bolt for the hole. Am I just doing something stupid?

    EDIT: Attached the pics.

Are you talking about the cam cover bolt? Its a long bolt with threads just on the end. You stick that bolt through on the other side or right side of the cylinder head. Go to the resources and links section of the forum.
Click on the CT70 parts catalog. You should be able to find the parts diagram in there showing what goes where.

Sorry, forgt to attach the pics. I circled the hole in red. Thanks for the direction- I'll see if I can find it in that catalog!

That bolt holds the cam chain roller, the good news is that if the bolt won't go in the roller is still their.

First do not run the engine with this bolt out.

I would shine a light in the hole and use a screw driver the get the roller back in place so the bolt will go back in.

The bolt you are holding is #10 in this picture.

[You may have to pull the head if you can't get it back where it belongs.
