    What model CT 70?

I am new to the CT 70 world so please excuse my ignorance but wanting to get educated before I get too deep into this fun little project bike I have. Long story but I picked up this CT 70 and I'm stumped and confused about what model it really is. Paid very little for it as is ( Wouldn't start ) but want to determine what year - model before I purchase any possibly wrong parts in my efforts to repair and restore it. The title ( Yes, it had a clean title and was previously licensed for street and off road use plus it looked pretty good overall which is why I "Went for it" ) states it is a 1970... the DOM on the tag on the front fork is 1/71
and the VIN # on that tag, on the title, and on the frame is CT70-246XXX. The engine serial # is CT70E-246XXX. ( 6 digits, not 7 ) and it has KO color, decals, and parts - like a plastic tank, all chrome exhaust shield, etc. But is the VIN # right for a 70? A guy at Honda America told me it is a 75! Thanks for the help.

246xxx would make it a 75 K4 in Mighty Green - So there are a few things that are not original for sure. Something just does not make sense here. - Throw up a bunch of good pics for everyone to look at.

The K0 has a six digit VIN and start with 10xxxx
K0 engine six digits start with 10xxxx
The K1 is seven digits and starts with 20xxxxx
The K2 is seven digits and starts with 21xxxxx
    etc.

Your numbers fit a K0 model.

    What model CT70

Thank you SO MUCH! Two of you out there have already confirmed what I believe - my bike is a late KO and the 6 digit VIN # is the key. You wouldn't believe how many guys have tried to tell me it's a 74 or 75 including one response post tonight. ( By the way, its color is a KO "Candy Ruby Red" not a K4 "Mighty Green" ) This was incredibly frustrating to me and I feel a great sense of relief to finally be convinced that it is indeed a KO model. Now I can start buying parts and try to get the "Little Princess" started!!!!! By the way, speaking of that; Does a KO model require a good charged up battery to start? Looking at the wiring diagram I would think not but a local shop tells me it does.

Nope doesn't need the battery to run. Hard on bulbs though.

The absense of a battery is hard enough on blubs that they will burn out. Not much of a problem except for the headlamp, which is more expensive to replace. An old battery that will no longer hold a charge should be left in place and connected until a new one is installed. This will protect the bulbs.
