Thread: Where to buy Forks

Ok, this ongoing issues with forks is really Umm.. tickin' me off.

I had to get new forks for me k3 as they were severly pitted, I went to Ebay and got a pair they too were pitted, then I went BACK to ebay and bought a set of k0 (71.. I think) which I like better anyways and yep.. although not BOTH are scratched up bad to the point one has a flat on it.

So.. does anyone have a set of forks to sell or mabey I can get a link to some reputable site.

I have a set of Honda Nice forks, slightly used but in excellent condition. You would need a triple clamp and bar clamps. The forks are 26mm. in diameter.

I have a vendor that makes custom fork tubes , they used to make the ct70 tubes , I'll post the info when I get to work, I was thinking they were 150-175 per tube? , and they require you to send your tubes in for double checking the measurements they have in their system ,then they make you a new set of tubes, and send both sets back to you. , Craig.

In terms of suspension action, K0 is the bottom of the ladder. The simplicity of the design makes repairs more practical. Worst case you could have have the pitted areas silver brazed, then turned-down a couple of thousandths below stock diameter to allow for triple chrome. Nothing like a bit of lathe action to get them perfect.

If function is top priority, then any K1-`79 fork legs can be swapped-in directly and someone has to have a pair that's rebuildable; the overwhelming majority of what I've seen over the years have been. `80 & later forks have the best action, in stock form. Patience, and a bit of luck, could net what you want and save you some bucks. I'd suggest looking at offerings in the warmer, drier, sections of the country.

Would these work on my little CT?

You could use those forks I have not tried fitting those but I have done a little research. I'd ask the seller how long they are from center of axle to top of fork, I think its 25" if so they would work good you would probably need to shave off a little metal off the brake drum post and axle mount to get the wheel lined up and maybe a longer brake cable, but for the fork action would be awesome the lead axle would give you almost 2" more wheelbase and I think those fork have almost five inches of travel.You could use the handle bar clamps that comes with it. Also you can easily get stiffer spring and I think different dampening rodes.

P.S. You would need a K1 to 78 bottom triple tree and have it bored, I beleave those have 27mm upper tube

Thanks for link Johny 5 but I can't afford that. I think I'll just have to wait for ebay.
