Thread: 1977 Z50A shifting problems. HELP!!!!!!!!!

OK I got a 1977 Z50A given to me for free. Yes FREE! However $600 later, everything is great except for shifting. I had to replace the gasket on the right side cover. It shifted fine for the first few laps, but now it grinds on trying to shift back from 3 2 and 1 back to neutral. It will only down shift and go into neutral with the engine shut off. It seems to shift from N through 3 fine on restart. I have tried to adjust the clutch with no improvement. Any help will be appreciated. I am going to take the cover off again tomorrow to see if anything has slipped out of place or broken. I may have more questions then. I am new to little bikes and the auto clutch, so this may be a no brainer.

Did you figure out what it was? Im having similar problems
