Anyone used the air filter pods? Key Question as well

    problem #1
I just started fixing my 1970 ct70 and in the middle of cleaning out the carburetor my dog chewed up the rubber boot connecting the carb to the air box. So I am looking for a replacement and one of the pods on ebay look like a good alternative. Have any of you used them? is it necessary to re-jet the carb on these little bikes if you change to a pod rather than using the oem air box?
    Problem #2
My bike is also missing the key. So far i haven't had any luck finding a key with the matching code on the front of the lock assembly. I can't even seem to find a blank. are there any options beside buying a new ignition assembly?

Do you mean the cone type filters? If so, then there will be some adjustments needed. Go to the resource section here and there is a listing for Honda Keys.

There should be a code stamped on the outside of the ignition. It will most likely start with an "H" and have 4 digits afterwards.

That that code and go to the website link below.

Can't help with the air cleaner but you can get two keys for about $11 from an eBay seller:

the aftermarket air filters flow alot more air than stock, rejetting will be needed for it to run properly in my experience.

with a higher jet and a free flowing filter I am able to make it well past 40mph

The K&N style air filter are great, more air flow but are loud compared to the original cannister type. Re-jetting will be required as mentioned before, but nothing drastic.

I got a couple of keys from the guy Harry mentioned on eBay. Easy to deal with. First pair didn't fit even though the key code was the same, so he sent me another pair (different head shape, but still Honda) and they work perfectly. Great to have a spare pair.

    I just ordered this:

    http://www.dratv.com/cuairfi35ta.html

My recently required CT70 didn't have an air filter in the cylendrical chamber, that thing sucks to put on/take off, and there's a lot more room down there without it. Anyone have a suggestion of what jets to order for it? I'll probably just order two or three and hope one of them works.

    Thanks!

p.s. I realize this is kind-of a hijack, but it's probably going to help both of us out.
