Thread: Battery box right size?

I'm looking for a battery box for my k3, there have been a couple boxes on eBay for older bikes( -72) and my concern is that they are to small to accommodate the 74 battery.

Does any one know if the battery boxes are diffrent sizes?

Also.. anyone know where i can get headlight ears with turn signal holes?

The old CT70's '69 thru '71 models have the smaller 3 1/4 inch by 2 1/4 inch battery box. The '74 model has the bigger 3 1/4 by 3 1/4 inch battery box. I've got both a '71 and '74 models trail 70's and those are the boxes they have. The '74 does have a bigger battery, probably because they started putting turn signals on them that year.

Do you think Honda still has them in stock?

I doubt Honda has them, it wouldn't hurt to ask thou. I just saw one at ebay the size you need. If its not there by the time you look then just wait till another one shows up. I see them there all the time. I saw 2 of them there, one of them is $9 with 10 hours left on the bidding. The other one looked rusty as hell and the guy wants to much $31, that way too much.
