Thread: CT70 Carb. Leak at Shutoff

    If that's the case than, the rubber seal/fuel selector gasket (one with many holes in it) need replaced. Another possibility is the spring loaded washer needs to be on top of the gasket an not under it.

    Probably installed wrong. Remove two screws and install per the diagram. I'm betting the spring is on the wrong side of the valve. It does not come in contact with the gasket!

    I did that the 1st time I rebuilt one and it leaked like a bitch!

    hornetdog and Flash are correct. I had the spring installed against the gasket. I installed it per the diagram and it stopped leaking. Thanks guys.

    One issue resolved on to the next. I have spark and it will start and idle for like 5 seconds and quit. If I give it throttle when I'm kicking it over it will just pop. I need to check the points to make sure they are set right and then see what happens.

    Update: Set the point made some adjustments on the carb. and got it running. WOOOHOOOO. Road it around the yard last night and everything seems to be working and it's running pretty darn good. The more I ran it the better it ran.

    Thanks for everyone's input on the board. The only reason I got it running was the information on this board.
