Thread: CT70 Engine with SL70 Flywheel

I was told that an SL70 flywheel with the auto advance would not fit a CT70 flywheel. Different tappers on the crankshafts.

Well I placed both an SL70 and CT70 flywheels on the same SL70 crankshaft. The both seem to fit properly.

I can see no difference in the tapers on a CT70 and SL70 crankshaft.

Comments please.

They both will slide on the ct flywheel will slip on a sl crank better then a sl on a ct crank but the tapers are different, and so they wouldn't seat propley. squish clay in each flywheel and you will see the difference. HTH

If the ct is an H model there're should not be a problem, the the auto is different.

And it's the taper that provides the force to hold it on.The key lines it up in the proper place,the nut and washer seats the taper.If they don't match it will come off.
