Thread: CT70H won't start

After a complete rebuild and many attempts to get this thing started with no success I assumed the problem was the carb. I have now switched the carb out with a newer one and still the bike won't start. There is spark and gas is getting to the plug. The cam seems to be in the right position. The points, condensor and ignition coil are all new. Any other suggestions as to what I might be missing.

I might start there - along with a timing light.

I had a similar problem as yours and found out the valves were out of adjustment. You might try that. After adjusting the valves the bike starts pretty easy and runs good. It's worth a try.

I would definitely recheck that your points are opening at the correct moment and also double check your valve settings as mentioned before. You seem to have eliminated the other causes of a dirty carb and no spark. I assume your compression has been checked and is good.
