    DAX shift pattern ?

    The shift pattern is 1U 2D....1st to 2nd requires a double shift..1st - N...N - 2nd.

I thought something was wrong and have had the cover off a few times and everything looks perfect.

    Is this correct ?

If this is correct...Why did they make it require a double shift to get from 1st to 2nd ?

A ST50 Dax has the shift pattern of 1 down and 2 up. Neutral between 1 and 2.

A ST70 Dax the very same.

It might be different with '80s and '90's versions so what year is your Dax?

1972 and the pattern is definately 1U-2D

It indexes perfectly at 1U =1st, 1full click down = N, 1 more full click down = 2nd, another full click down = 3rd....no half click between 1st and second.
