Thread: Dim Headlight

I have a CT70H with a Dim Headlight. Last night was the first time I have ridden it after dark and You really have to get some rpm's to get it to brighten enough to see what is in front of you. Anybody know where to start? This is a good running bike and I don't want to cause other problems in trying to correct the original probem of the dim light. It's sn is 131527. As Miniac has stated in another thread on this same topic, the headlight and high beam indicator light run directly off of the stator, i.e. they are powered by an AC from the "alternator" rather than a DC battery.

I do not know weather the Stator can be cleaned to produce more power or if it would need replaced. I am sure he will be along shortly to assist you with this.

Does the light stay dim when the rpms are increased? How old is the battery? The light on my bike is litteraly useless on low beam 6 volt systems have lights but they aint near as good as 12 volt systems.
