Thread: extra gasket

k well we have been repairing my ct70 this summer, and it seems that we have 1 gasket left after putting it back together, we cannot figure out where this belongs, so if anyone would b so kind as to tell us where all the gaskets belong so we can figure out where we went wrong, i would greatly aprichiate it. Thank you

You need to post a pic of the "extra" gasket. Otherwise, the best answer that can be expected is "in the engine", which I don't think is very helpful.

I started to ask if he could be any more vague but then decided against it. Inside the engine was also going to be my responce but Im just too nice of a guy. We will help you all we can man but you got to give us a little more to go on then that like a picture, discription etc. Many times gasket sets fit more then 1 bike too and you dont use them all.

My guess is that there is an extra seal for the cylinder stud and cylinder that did not get installed

Gasket kits are becoming more "universal" and frequently have extras. Some even come with an extra oil pump gasket, used as a shim, if needed. Surplus O-rings are common and I've seen some with both 3 & 4 speed clutch face (oil filter cover) gaskets.
