    fixing carb fuel leak

There is a small gasketed cover opposite the fuel lever on my carb. One of the two machine screws holding it in is stripped. What is the best way to fix this? What is the easiest? Thanks!

I sometimes have some luck with woodscrews, but that just buys some time.
Aftermarket replacement carbs of 18-19mm are on E-bay for real good prices.
You get the benefit of brand new and some performance gain at upper rpm.
I have seen them from $45-$60 for brand new carbs.
    Keibin 19mm Carb W/Manual choke lever $45
Mikuni Copy 19mm Carb with fuel shutoff $60
    Denki 19mm Carb $55
Check out an E-bay seller named Coloradokiteski. He has the above listed carbs in stock, plus other stuff.
Message him on E-Bay for parts that you need.
He ships fast and replies to messages daily.
Emotowholesale on E-bay has some good stuff but is a bit more$$$
They have great customer service though and stand behind anything that arrives damaged, I can vouch for that.
Vina performance on E-bay has new carbs real cheap and good quality but .....
They come straight from Vietnam and it takes a month to get here.
My 24mm carb and intake was $45 and is nice but took a month to arrive

My current carb (19mm Keihin?) I think is original to the bike and it's clean inside and the bike runs well with it so I'm reluctant to replace it. Is it possible to fill the hole with something, redrill and tap... or tap oversize?

You could make the hole a bit bigger if there is room and tap oversize.
Sometimes if you use a coarser thread screw it will cut its own threads in aluminum.
    I think your carb is 16mm-17mm ?
