    Flywheel nut size

Can someone confirm if the 1970 ct70h uses a 10x1.5 or 10x1.0 nut? I need to get a die to clean up the crank and want to make sure I get the correct one. The original nut is junk so I can't go by that.

I guess there is a third choice of 10x1.25

If you can get to the threads and have a good measuring device(i.e. a good scale or a set of calipers), measure along the shaft from the tip of one thread down to the tenth thread for example. Take the total length that you measured (say for this example that it equals 15 mm) and divide by the number of threads that you measured (say 10 for this example) the pitch of the thread is 15mm / 10 threads = 1.5 mm It should be pretty easy to tell if the length is 10 mm or 15 mm over ten threads or a fairly large number of threads.

tried measuring it but they are pretty buggered up. I can pretty much rule out 1.5 but I can't tell if I have 1.0 or 1.25. I guess I will have to purchase a nut from Honda then buy my die.

Save yourself some head aches and buy a metric pitch gauge. It takes out the guess work.

I will have to do that against the new nut when it shows up. The crank is to bad to tell.

in case anyone follows along on this topic in the future, it is a 1.25 nut. I was able to fix the crank with a Harbor freight die.
