head light & tail light dim when I apply brakes

    Hi All-

I was blowing light bulbs, so after reading posts on this site, I swapped out the rectifier in my '70 CT 70. I'm not blowing bulbs anymore, but, now when I apply the brakes, the headlight dims and the taillight essentially goes dark. Any recommendations for solving this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have a new battery? or is it dead? i have a simillar problem, but my battery is dead. i think if you get a new battery, your problem may be fixed.

    Its the battery usually.
It is pulling amperage leaving very little for break light. At least that was my problem. Once battery was close to full charge, problem went away. If battery is bad and constantly pulling amperage the problem will persist.
