Help!! Brake light blinks when signals are on

where i turn on turn signal the tail light flashed opposite the turn signal. i assume this is not normal.. its an 85ct70
I have been trying to solve this stupid problem for ages. I have taken tail light off and rear signal bar off. All wires and grounds were tested and are ok.
that was the back part of the bike.
do i look in head light where front signals go?
    where else can i check??
can this be a rectifier issue?
this is not a rebuild and all original.. signals were off and put back on by previouos owner..

any help would be great ..

here is a video of what it looks like

Can this be fixed or is this normal??
can this be due to 6v bulbs but wong wattage?

can someone with a 6volt ct70 with signals tell me if their tail light dims/blinks or not...

    thanks

my tail light does not blink when my turn signals are on

it sounds like the tailight might be plugged in where the turn signal should be?

i would get a wireing diagram and make shure the right color wires are going to the right places.

all is wired ok and all grounds have been checked.. i keep being told its due to a weak 6volt system and thats normal... are your signals wired to your battery??

what happens when your signal is on and you hit the brake??? do they get weak???

from what i have been told the signals draw from the battery while the tailamp draws from the alternator, for safety reasons

i did not see your video before and after watching it, it does not look like a wireing error, does it have a new battery? now that i am thinking my suzuki might have this same problem, it might just be a 6v thing. but i would replace the battery if you have not already.

thanks JP... ya brand new stock battery... i dont know how they charged it... trickle or car.

i rode the bike for an hour or so.. would that charge the battery more???

i was just messaging 747pilot ( or something ) and he says his tail light does not blink when signals are on....
a few people say it could be ground or bulbs..

    lets solve this one!!!!!

I just watched your vid...What is the headlight doing during this? To me it seems like your tail light wire is crossed somewhere connecting with the flasher...Have you disconnected the tail light wire(s) at the light assy to see what happens? What happens when the brake is applied? How many volts are showing at the light? If you put the test light in the socket, does it blink? I can't imagine it being the bulbs

Kmcrab - i agree - i think i have a wire crossed, but this bike is not a re build. flashers were taken off at one point then put back on.

i took the tail light off and rear signal bar off... checked all wires and put them back on.. all grounds are ok and all power wires are ok as if one signal is disconected all of them wont work..

when brake light is applied they sill work ok.. other thing is when horn is honked the tail light also goes weak. i have been told this is all due to a weak primative 6v system.. i have also heard from people that their tail light is fine while signals blink..

i dont have a volt meeter so i cant test volts

    what is test light??

A test light can be found at any parts store, Wal-Mart etc..It is very affordable and I believe a neccessity when it comes to wiring. It has a handle like a screwdriver with a bulb in it and the end is pointy like an ice pick. It has a wire coming from the top with an alligator clip on it for ground. It will allow you to check power to all connections and wires.

If you can get a volt meter do so...Both of these tools will save a lot of time and trouble.

Have you checked the harness for any weak spots/rubs etc? Check all the ends and also the plug in connections as well as clean them really good.

Even though this is not a restoration, the wires could still be in contact inside the harness...Have you unwrapped that to check? You can get new wrap at the parts store also. They have had 24 years to rub together.

I still think that the brake wire is coming into contact somewhere with the flasher or or the blinker wiring.

    Kmcrab....

what i forgot to mention is that when i hit the horn button the tail light also goes weak.. if i tap the horn the tail light wll blink just as it does when the signal blinks.

this means power from signal or horn is drawn away from tail light.

so its not isolated to turn signals..

is this due to the low 6 volt system???

would 6volt led signals use less power and not make tail light blink??

    thanks
