Thread: Model Number / Year Question

I recently purchased a CT70 that I am confused on the serial number/year. The number is CT70-265XXX. The date on the tag with the serial number is 4/71. It matches the picture in the identification guide as the 1971, CT70K0 model, but the serial number appears it would be a 77 model. Can anyone explain this?

The 77's will have a 7 digit VIN. Yours is a very late model 71. Congratulations.
