Need Help...DrATV "better" carb kit, now petcock lever is VERY stiff to operate

I am rebuilding a stock AT7B carburetor with the DrATV "Better" carb kit. After installing the Petcock rubber packing and the new spring washer the Petcock lever is VERY hard to operate with MUCH resistance when moving the lever!

Does the wavy shaped spring washer have to installed in a certain direction as it seems to not be symmetrical... sharper edges in or out?

Should I tighten the two screws all the way down or back them off to allow easier movement?... I would think to tighten down all the way!

Once fuel is in the carb will it lubricate and then loosen up?

    What gives?

    Thanks!

    petcock

Tight on the screws. I've put a drop of oil on my fingers and rubbed it on before, works fine. It will loosen w/ some gas.
I do remember leaving them loose before and eventually all the way down. Kinda like a new pair of shoes.

Put some petroleum jelly on the O ring and moving parts, just a little dab will do Which bike are you rebuilding?

It is a 1972 K1, but the carb happens to be a AT7B which I believe might be from the earlier K0 bikes?

Some research has shown that the K1 bike should maybe have a 533A carb?
